Frequently Asked Questions

1. How soon after an injury can I book in for a session?

Within the first 24 to 72 hours of injury this is the acute stage, this is the acute inflammatory phase. During this stage you will expect to find swelling, pain and the skin will become very red. I would advise that you follow the RICE treatment, Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevate. After 72 hours Sports Massage Therapy can be very effective in speeding up the recovery process.

2. I am under 18 years of age can I have sports massage or sports massage therapy?

Yes of course you can have a sports massage or sports massage therapy under the age of 18 but depending on whether you are under 16 or between the age bracket of 16 to 18 then there are few requirements. If you are under the age of 16 then an adult must be there when initial consultation takes place to be able to give consent for you and they must be there for the duration of the massage. If you are under the age of 18 then an adult must be there during the initial consultation to give consent for you but they do not need to be present during the massage.

3. How many times a week should I book you for personal training?

For personal training I would say to get real results you want to schedule you in two or three sessions a week. With my body transformations I offer three sessions a week and I assure you with this that if you stick to what I tell you to do then you will see real results in a very short amount of time this will take your body to a level that you might have never realised was possible. Once you have achieved desired look or you are happy with your fitness levels I would recommend personal training session once a week to maintain once a week whilst I give you a set programme to do with the rest of the week.

4. How often should I have sports massage to notice a difference?

I would recommend sports massage either once a week or once a fortnight or once a month. This all depends on how often you train, whether an event is coming up or it might depend on the type of lifestyle that you live. I would strongly suggest that if you are soon to be competing or you partake in your sport 3 to 4 times a week that you opt for sports massage once a week. If you have the type of lifestyle where your body is constantly under pressure, or you work in a job which means that you might not always be able to keep correct posture then I would suggest a sports massage ideally once a fortnight if possible or once a month. By keeping up regular sessions of sports massage you will be able to be able to prevent injuries re-occurring and you will be able to maintain a great level of mobility. If you have an injury or have some particular pain which you cannot get rid of, please read the FAQ Question on Sports Massage Therapy.

5. How often should I have sports massage therapy to notice a difference?

In order to notice a difference from Sports Massage Therapy I would recommend up to 4 treatments all together if you have a niggling injury or a certain amount of pain which has been bothering you for some time. Not all injuries are going to take up to 4 treatments but don't expect to see results after just one treatment. After you have recovered I would recommend looking to start taking up a sports massage on a fortnight or monthly basis as a form of maintainance to prevent further injury.

6. How does it work if I cancel within less than 24 hours notice?

If you cancel within less than 24 hours I will have to charge you for that session, because during this time I could have had filled this session time with another client.

7. Why use a Personal Trainer?

A few people have the knowledge to train themselves for free - but the majority of people lack the motivation, drive, commitment and knowledge required to really get fit. Turning up regularly at a gym is not the same as getting fitter! Our personal training listens to your personal objectives then gives focussed support and encouragement to help you to achieve great results.

8. Is a Personal Trainer for me?

I would definitely recommend personal training to get real results within a short space of time. With personal training we offer this on a one to one basis and we offer this as a mobile service which means that we will come to your home, not much space is required all you really need is a level of dedication and you need to want this to happen. With my help I can get you to where you want to be. Contact me today.
